This activity will help a student to interpret an area model by recognizing the decimals in an illustration. At the end of the session, a child will be able to state the fraction (tenths or hundredths) that is equivalent to a given decimal. This will improve their ability to compare the values of decimals (tenths or hundredths) on different scales.
